ARE YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE OR PARTNER THINKING ABOUT
SEEKING HELP FOR YOUR RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS?

Welcome to Faye Slater Counseling.

relationship counseling couples greenville, sc

My counseling practice is dedicated to helping couples in distress.  I believe that stable, loving relationships form the basis of fulfilling, satisfying, and healthy lives.   Studies have repeatedly shown that health and well-being are dramatically improved when we have meaningful relationships in our lives.  When your primary relationship is healthy, the rest of your life tends to fall into place.  When it breaks down, nothing goes right.

My training in counseling methods that encompass clinically-proven theories and approaches to relationship problems enables me to help you:

We’ve got this thing called love, but love is like a precious plant. You can’t just accept it and leave it in a cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself. You’ve got to keep watering it. You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.

  • Strengthen the friendship that forms the foundation of your relationship
  • Develop positive communication styles and learn effective conflict resolution skills
  • Re-engage emotionally and restore intimacy
  • Adjust to the challenges of parenthood or blending families
  • Understand how past relationships and experiences, including family-of-origin, influence your current relationship.
  • Recover from betrayal/infidelity and rebuild trust and commitment

Rarely does only one problem account for relationship dissatisfaction.  As we peel back the layers, we are able to identify underlying issues and rebuild the dynamic and connected relationship you long for.

Unfortunately, there are also situations when the right decision is to end the relationship.  Separation and divorce counseling can help you get through the rough transition of saying goodbye to each other.  If you have children, parting as amicably as possible is essential to your ability to co-parent effectively and help them through the transition.

When a relationship ends, whether through break-up, divorce, or death, a grieving process ensues.  My experience and certification in grief counseling allows me to help you negotiate that process and heal from the loss.
